We added the Large size because the standard Okamoto width (36mm) is sized for a Japanese-domestic average and many of our customers prefer the 38mm fit. We import direct from Okamoto's authorised Japanese distributor; every box ships with Japanese-language packaging, full batch traceability, and an expiry typically 4–5 years from the manufacture date.

How to use

1. Check the expiry date printed on the box and on each individual sachet before use. Discard if expired or if the sachet is damaged.
2. Tear the sachet carefully along the notched edge — never with teeth or scissors, which can nick the condom.
3. Pinch the reservoir tip to expel air, then unroll the condom fully onto an erect penis before any intimate contact.
4. After use, hold the base while withdrawing, tie off, wrap in tissue, and bin (never flush).
5. One condom per use — never reuse, never double up (friction between two condoms increases breakage risk).

Pro tip: polyurethane transfers heat more efficiently than latex, which is part of what makes Okamoto 001 feel so different from a standard condom. Use a few drops of water-based lubricant to enhance the sensation; avoid silicone-based and any oil-containing product.

Okamoto 001 Large vs Sagami Original 0.01

The two pillars of ultra-thin Japanese condoms. Okamoto 001 Large is 0.01mm polyurethane at a 38mm width — thinner-feeling, latex-free, with the most flexible heat transfer. Sagami Original 0.01 is also 0.01mm polyurethane but in standard width and ships 5 per box for slightly better unit economics. Many customers buy both to compare. If you've found standard-fit condoms too tight, the Okamoto Large is the more comfortable option.

FAQ

Is this authentic Okamoto from Japan? Yes. Every box ships in original Japanese-market packaging with intact tamper seals. We import via Okamoto's authorised channels and store at controlled temperature.

Is 0.01mm safe? It sounds thin. 0.01mm refers to uniform wall thickness and is achieved using polyurethane rather than latex. Polyurethane has different tensile properties to latex and is engineered to meet JIS T 9111 (Japan) and equivalent ISO standards. All Okamoto 001 products undergo electronic testing of every unit before packaging.

What's the difference between Large and standard? Width only. Standard Okamoto 001 is 36mm nominal width; Large is 38mm. Length is approximately the same. Choose Large if standard sizes feel restrictive.

Can I use this with lubricant? Yes — water-based or silicone-based only. Oil-based products (including coconut oil, baby oil, or oil-based lotions) will degrade polyurethane and cause failure.

How should I store them? Cool, dry place below 30°C, away from direct sunlight and out of wallets where heat and friction can damage the foil. Hong Kong's summer heat in a glove box or bathroom is the main thing to avoid.
